Mountainous Ilia is a very special and different side of the Ilian lands. From Ancient Aepy, the steep and impressive Platiana, to the traditional settlement of Ano Taxiarches, visitors can tour a variety of attractions. The most important of them is the Temple of Apollo Epicurius, which has been described as the Parthenon of Ilia.
Some other important destinations in the area are Amygdalies, Andritsena with its historical library and its Folklore Museum, while a visit to Fanari and the Monastery of Sepetos that looks like it’s hanging from the rocks, is mandatory.
